First edition of a report on the relations between Quakers and Native Americans from 1794 onwards, featuring two hand-colored maps (one folding).

Starting from the earliest Quaker settlements in North America, this account describes the Friends' "Labours for the Civilization and Christian Instruction of the Indians," particularly in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Also present is the first appearance of James Bowden's important "Map of North America, denoting the boundaries of the yearly meetings of Friends and the locations of the various Indian tribes," documenting the numbers of Native Americans removed to the west of the Mississippi and of those still residing elsewhere; another Bowden map depicts "Aboriginal America, East of the Mississippi."
