Poster: Builders! Speed Is Vital

“BUILDERS! SPEED IS VITAL”: HANDSOME BRITISH WORLD WAR II POSTER

(WORLD WAR II). Poster: Builders! Speed Is Vital. Minutes Saved—Lives Saved. London: H.M. Stationery Office, circa 1939. Original two-color broadside poster, measuring 20 by 30 inches, closely framed, measures 22-1/2 by 32-1/2 inches.

Dramatic original World War II two-color poster depicting a crane operator with text proclaiming: "Builders! Speed Is Vital. Minutes Saved—Lives Saved."

This original poster speaks to Britain's determination to build at the onset (and indeed throughout) World War II. Builders were needed to build fortifications, accommodate the influx of troops, reconstruct buildings destroyed by Luftwaffe bombing, and much more. Indeed, builders were engaged in some of the most war work on the British Homefront. This poster was produced between 1939 and 1945. De-accessioned by The Valentine Museum, Richmond, Virginia.

Faint folding creases, slight creasing to marginal edges. About-fine condition.
