WOODEN, John and WALTON, Bill. Poster signed. No place, no date. One sheet, measuring 10-1/2 by 15 inches; handsomely matted and framed, entire piece measures 12 by 18 inches. $1800.
Poster signed by legendary UCLA Hall of Fame coach John Wooden and his Hall of Fame player Bill Walton, who starred under Wooden at UCLA and went on to a lengthy and celebrated NBA career as a player and announcer.
Wooden's tenure as coach for UCLA's basketball team lead to an unprecedented (and still unmet) 10 NCAA national championships between 1964 and 1975. Bill Walton played at UCLA from 1970 to 1974, and was named national college player of the year for three consecutive years; he went on to a lengthy NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers, the San Diego Clippers and the Boston Celtics before retiring and becoming a respected sports broadcaster. Wooden and Walton remained close friends until Wooden's death in 2010. This poster displays images of both men in the format of trading cards, each pictured twice, Wooden coaching and Walton playing at UCLA.
Fine condition, handsomely framed.
