LANES, Selma G. The Art of Maurice Sendak. New York: Harry N. Abrams, (1980). Oblong quarto, original pictorial cloth, original printed acetate dust jacket. $950.

First edition of the first major retrospective of the acclaimed artist-author's career, with 261 illustrations, including 94 color plates and an original Sendak pop-up, inscribed by him in the year of pubication: "To John—Maurice Sendak Dec. '80," with author Selma G. Lanes' signature directly beneath.
