GOOD GRIEF, MORE PEANUTS!, INSCRIBED BY SCHULZ

SCHULZ, Charles M. Good grief, more Peanuts! New York and Toronto: Rinehart & Co., (1956). Oblong ocatvo, original pictorial paper wrappers.

Early edition of the third collection of comic strips starring Charlie Brown, Snoopy and friends, inscribed on the half title, “For Frank – Charles M. Schulz.”

"Peanuts first appeared in October 1950 in eight daily newspapers. The feature was immediately popular and was soon picked up by hundreds of other newspapers throughout the country. By the end of the decade Schulz had become arguably the best-known cartoonist in the United States, and Charlie Brown et al. had become household names; the strip was even responsible, thanks to Linus, for adding the term 'security blanket' to the national lexicon… From the 1950s onward Schulz assembled and published his cartoon strips in book form, beginning with Peanuts in 1952, and followed by More Peanuts (1954) and Good Grief, More Peanuts! (1956)" (ANB). Early edition, without publisher's device on copyright page.

Expected light embrowning to interior. Slight rubbing to spine, wrappers lightly soiled, upper corner lightly creased. A near-fine inscribed copy.
