Signed limited edition, number 429 of 750 copies hand-sewn and bound in cloth (out of a total edition of 820), signed on the colophon by both Robert Motherwell and Octavio Paz, with 27 original mounted lithographs by Motherwell, including an original lithograph inset on the front cover of the book.
Handset in Bauer Bodoni at the Stamperia Valdonega in Verona, presswork on the three poems was accomplished at Stamperia Valdonega, Wild Carrot Letterpress and Heritage Printers, respectively. Each of the 27 lithographs by Robert Motherwell used to illustrate this edition was pulled at Trestle Editions of New York on handmade Japanese paper of various contrasting colors and hand-mounted (colle) upon the same Magnani Italian mould-made paper used for the text. With bilingual text, the Spanish text printed in red, with English translation of the poems printed in black on facing pages.
Faint sunning to front of box. A splendid production in fine condition.
