First editions in English of Larsson's posthumously published trilogy, preceding the American editions, a splendid set in original dust jackets.

This exceptional trilogy contains the first editions in English of Stieg Larsson's famed series, featuring his posthumously published Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2008), Girl Who Played With Fire (2009) and Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009). Larsson's sudden death after turning in the manuscripts to the novel prompted Joan Smith of the Sunday Times to note: "Crime fiction has seldom needed to salute and mourn such a stellar talent as Larsson's in the same breath." Other reviewers agreed that the novel's heroine is "the most original character in crime fiction since Patricia Highsmith's Ripley" (Sunday Times). The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was further heralded as an irresistible work that combines the "the most original character in crime fiction since Patricia Highsmith's Ripley"; The Girl Who Played With Fire offers "fresh perils in store for Larsson's extraordinary heroine, Lisbeth Salander," and his The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest continues the "utterly addicting" exploits of Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist in a series that rocked the publishing world (New York Times). Basis for Swedish film adaptations beginning with the 2009 film starring Noomi Rapace; an American version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara and directed by David Fincher was released in 2011. Preceded by the first Swedish editions: 2005, 2006, and 2007, respectively. Translated from the Swedish by Reg Keeland.

A fine set.
