"THE MAGAZINE THAT DARES TO ANSWER THE QUESTION, 'WHO GOES THERE?'": FIRST EDITION OF THE MOVIE TIE-IN, SIGNED BY STEPHEN KING

KING, Stephen. Creepshow. New York: Plume, (1982). Quarto, original pictorial wrappers. Housed in a custom clamshell box.

First edition of the graphic novel adaptation of the Creepshow movie, signed and dated ("12/3/87") on the title page by King beneath the Creep's pointing finger.

Produced simultaneously with the 1982 movie directed by George A. Romero, this graphic novel pays tribute to the horror comics of the 1950s. King provided all five stories for Creepshow, his screenwriting debut, with two adapted from previous short stories ("The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" and "The Crate") while "Father's Day," "Something to Tide You Over" and "They're Creeping Up on You!" were written for the movie. Illustrations by legendary comic artist Bernie Wrightson (credited here as Berni Wrightson) with Michele Wrightson. Brooks A16.

Contents crisp and clean; wrappers with traces of wear to corners and spine. A near-fine signed copy.
