First edition of this richly illustrated survey of the history of golf, with 71 photographic portraits of the great players of his day.
"Like many of the books that Mr. Hutchinson had a hand in, this is a complete review of the game, from a history of its development to a chapter on how to make a golf club, for those so bent" (Murdoch 384). Hutchinson was a fine golfer, winning the first British Amateur Championship in 1886 and playing one of the first exhibitions of the sport in America. With contributions by Amy Pascoe, H.H.
