Signed limited first edition of Yuichi Hibi’s first monograph, one of only 25 copies signed by him, featuring 79 full-bleed duotone plates (most double page), with a numbered 8 by 10-inch silver gelatin print, signed by the photographer on the verso above the penciled limitation “7/25,” and laid-in booklet.
Actor, filmmaker and photographer, Yuichi Hibi devotes this impressive first monograph, Imprint, to striking images of his native Japan and of New York City, where he has lived since 1988. Text in Japanese and English. Divided into two sections, this copy is signed by the photographer on the page opposite the title page (in English) and features 79 duotones and a single color image, along with a laid-in folded sheet printed with a facsimile of a 1988 letter, and an untitled silver gelatin print boldly signed by Hibi in black felt pen on the verso. Published same year as the trade edition and a limited edition of 1,000 copies (without print).
