DANIEL, EZRA, NEHEMIAH: 1611 PLANTIN PRINTING, IN HEBREW WITH INTERLINEAR LATIN TRANSLATION

HEBREW BIBLE. Daniel, Hezra, & Nechemiah, Hebraice: Cum Interlineari Versione Xantis Pagnini. [Leyden]: Ex Officina Plantiniana Raphelengii, 1611. Octavo, early full dark brown calf rebacked with original spine laid down, later red morocco spine label, raised bands; pp. 415-763 (as issued).

Plantin Press edition of this interlinear translation of the books of Daniel, Ezra and Nehemiah from Hebrew into Latin, with shoulder notes on Hebrew language roots, in early calf binding.

After the death of renowned printer Christophe Plantin in 1589, his son-in-law, Jan Moretus, took over the firm. Moretus and his descendants continued to print many works of note, such as the present work, “ex officina Plantiniana.” Printer’s woodcut device on title page. Text in Hebrew and Latin.

Lower corner of title page renewed, affecting ruled border but not imprint or any letterpress. Expert restoration to early calf boards. Very good in early calf binding.
