DI PRIMA, Diane. Seminary Poems. Point Reyes Station, California: Floating Island, 1991. Square octavo, hand-stitched as issued, original printed gray paper wrappers.

Limited edition, presentation copy, one of only 2000 copies of this collection of poetry, warmly inscribed on the title page to poet Allen Ginsberg: "Allen—Wishing you a happy Solstice & a wonderful year—love Diane," with Ginsberg's owner signature: "Rc'd 1/5/92 Allen Ginsberg."

Seminary Poems was written following a three-month period of study and meditation at the Rocky Mountain Dharma Center. The poems focus on the beauty and meaningfulness of a spiritual retreat. This signed limited edition comprises 2000 copies designed and produced by Michael Sykes at Archetype West in Point Reyes Station, California, and bound by hand. This copy is inscribed by Diane di Prima to Allen Ginsberg. Di Prima and Ginsberg met during the mid-1960s. They went on to become two of the most famous poets of the Beat Generation. Di Prima and Ginsberg were both Buddhists—making this work of particular interest to Ginsberg. In fact, di Parma became deeply involved with Ginsberg during the early days of the Naropa University (a Buddhist-inspired liberal arts college in Boulder). Ginsberg co-founded the school's Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, which attracted Beat poets from all over the country including di Prima. Ginsberg has also signed this copy.
