BRITISH EDITION OF HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS, FEATURING FOUR BEAUTIFUL TABLE-TOP POP-UPS IDEAL FOR CHRISTMAS DISPLAY
(CHRISTMAS). Here Comes Santa Claus. London: Bancroft, circa 1950. Quarto, spiral-bound as issued, original die-cut paper boards.
Mid 20th-century edition of this charming British pop-up Christmas book, with four unusual table-top pop-ups, in house-shaped die-cut boards depicting a jolly Santa Claus and his reindeer.
Unlike the traditional pop-ups that open across the middle of a two page spread, these lovely pop-ups were intended to be used as Christmas decorations and thus open as a tableau when the book is held upright. Using a paper-clip to hold the book open, the owner could then decide which of the four vintage-style scenes to put on Christmas display: Santa and his reindeer flying over an animal-filled forest; Santa and his reindeer landing on the roof of a brick house; Santa setting out Christmas gifts for three sleeping children; or the children discovering their presents on Christmas morning.
Slight wear to bottom edge of covers. Very nearly fine condition.
