Jimmy Carter won the 2002 Nobel Prize for Peace "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development" (Nobel Citation). This lecture was delivered on December 10, 2002 when he received the Prize. Due to a binder's error, this copy has the text block bound upside down, with Carter's signature blindstamped upside down on the rear panel.
