First edition of this portfolio of three dramatic images from the history of aviation, each original seven-color lithograph signed by the artist and the pilot or pilots involved, including Captain J.H. Doolittle, John A. Macready, and Captain O.C. ‘Boots’ Le Boutillier. This set number XV of only 50 deluxe suites on Inomachi Nacre paper, each print also marked ‘A/P’—Artist’s Proof.

The three images vividly and dramatically depict “Doolittle’s Tokyo Raid,” “Macready first to fly nonstop across America,” and “Le Boutillier and the death of the Red Baron.” The image of the Doolittle raid is signed by Doolittle and 15 American flyers who accompanied him on his famous raid, including two other pilots, E.W. Holstrom and Davy Jones.
