First edition, number 18 of 126 copies signed by Bukowski, with an original signed acrylic painting by him.

Bukowski "stands at the centre of a group of Los Angeles-based writers who glorify a gritty street life" and he "represents the antithesis of the academic poet" (Hamilton, 75). This collection of short stories includes "Scream When You Burn," "Scum Grief," "It's A Dirty World," and "How to Get Published." On a full preliminary leaf there is a frenetic abstract work in thickly applied acrylics, signed "BUK" in the corner. Also signed by him on the limitation page. Additionally issued in a trade edition and a signed, limited edition (without artwork) of 400 copies. Krumhansl 80e.
