September 2, 1937 typed letter signed by Margaret Mitchell the same year she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Gone With the Wind, congratulating friends for the birth of their daughter, writing in part: "I am partial, of course, to little girl babies and have never felt that people produced enough of them."

This endearing letter signed by Mitchell using her nickname, Peggy, congratulates friends on the birth of their daughter. The text of Mitchell's letter reads: "Dear John and Mrs. John: Many, many congratulations about Joan. I am partial, of course, to little girl babies and have never felt that people produced enough of them. I'm so glad you produced such a large, fine one. May all of you flourish. best to you, [signed] Peggy Mitchell Marsh [typescript] Peggy Mitchell Marsh, September 2, 1937."
