“HOW ANDY PUTS HIS WARHOL ON”: INSCRIBED, SIGNED AND INITIALED BY ANDY WARHOL

WARHOL, Andy. The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again). New York: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, (1975). Octavo, original half orange cloth, original dust jacket.

First edition, second printing, inscribed on the half title: “To S— love Andy 3.7.80" with his bold flourish, additionally initialed by Warhol on the dust jacket.

The father of pop-art waxes philosophic about art ("An artist is somebody who produces things that people don't need"), beauty ("Beautiful people are more prone to keep you waiting than plain people are…") and success ("Think rich. Look poor"). Warhol's initials on dust jacket partially obscured against black background.

Minor bleed-through from Warhol's initials to the title page. A fine inscribed copy.
