FINELY BOUND LIMITED EDITION SET OF HARRIET BEECHER STOWE’S WRITINGS, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR

STOWE, Harriet Beecher. Writings. Sixteen volumes. WITH: Life and Letters. Cambridge: The Riverside Press, 1896, 1897. Together, seventeen volumes. Octavo, original three-quarter green morocco gilt, raised bands, marbled boards and endpapers, top edges gilt, uncut and partially unopened. Housed in six matching custom clamshell boxes.

Signed limited large-paper edition, number 219 of only 250 sets signed and dated (“Jany 7th 1896”) by Harriet Beecher Stowe in Volume I, with 33 illustrated frontispieces and title pages, handsomely bound in publisher’s three-quarter morocco gilt. Autographed on the fly leaf by the author for this edition “a few months before her death.”

A collection of Stowe's prose and poetry, including Uncle Tom's Cabin and A Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin, Dred: A Tale of the Great Dismal Swamp, The Minister's Wooing, her New England books, and seven first printings of lesser works, with a separate posthumously published collection of her letters with biographical commentary.
