"This is a struggle of titans," Nixon writes of America's engagement in the Cold War, "the like of which the world has never seen." In Real War, Nixon calls "on the United States to mobilize its military, economic and intellectual powers against the Soviet Union" (New York Times). "First Printing: May 1980" on copyright page. Published in the same year as the signed limited edition of 2500 copies and a signed deluxe limited edition of unknown limitation. Brook Sledge was the author of a history of Noxubee County in Mississippi—the state which gave Nixon "the largest margin of support of any state" in the 1972 election (New York Times).
A fine inscribed copy.
