“PERHAPS WE’RE LIVING IN CAMELOT”: A LINEMAN’S ACCOUNT OF LOMBARDI’S PACKERS, SIGNED BY JERRY KRAMER

KRAMER, Jerry. Instant Replay. New York: World, (1968). Octavo, original green cloth, original dust jacket.

First edition of this diary of a football season that defined the life of famous Packers’ pulling guard Jerry Kramer, illustrated with 16 pages of photographs and signed by Kramer.

“Jerry Kramer did not know how good he was when he first joined the Green Bay Packers. You’d be surprised how much confidence a little success will bring” (Vince Lombardi). As a 6’3”, 250 pound right guard, Kramer was an integral part of the famous “Packer Sweep,” a signature play in which the guards pull out from their normal positions and lead blocking for an end run. With Kramer at right guard, the Packers won five NFL titles and the first two Super Bowls. He was All-Pro five times. Instant Replay ends with Kramer’s account of the lead block he made in front of Bart Starr to win the famous “Ice Bowl” championship game.

A fine signed copy.
