This is the autobiography of mountain climber and photographer George Lowe, who was on fellow New Zealander Edmund Hillary’s team during the ascent of Everest in 1953. An accomplished photographer as well, Lowe was the photographer on the first crossing of Antarctica in 1957-1958 with Sir Vivian Fuchs’ team, during which they proved that there was land beneath the ice. Conrad, 397. Bookseller label.
Inner paper hinge splitting, book near-fine. Dust jacket with only minor wear to edges and slight sunning to spine, extremely good.
