Library Edition, number 148 of only 750 copies, each volume signed by the publishers, with 11 portraits of Burns by various artists and nine facsimiles. Four volumes very handsomely bound in full morocco-gilt by Bayntun.

This edition, issued for the Burns centenary, includes all of Burns’ beloved poems and songs. “No one even approaches Burns… in concentrated utterance of passion” (DNB). “As a poet Burns stands in the front rank… He is the poet of freedom as well as beauty” (Allibone I:303). Extensively annotated throughout, with an index of first lines, a general index, and a biographical essay in Volume IV.
