LIMITED MINIATURE EDITION OF MAYA ANGELOU'S THE ARISTOCRAT, ONE OF 250 COPIES SPECIALLY PRINTED AND BOUND

ANGELOU, Maya. The Aristocrat. Newton, Iowa: Tamazunchale Press, 1986. 32mo (1-3/4 by 2-1/2 inches), original orange morocco gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt.

Limited miniature edition of this excerpt from I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, number 42 of only 250 copies specially printed and bound in full morocco-gilt.

Founded by Charlotte and Thomas Smith, Iowa's Tamazunchale Press published limited edition miniatures of classic literature, including modern classics. This copy was "printed from Trinite type by Joh. Enschede en Zonen Haarlem, Holland and bound by Reliure d'Art du Centre S.A. Limoges, France using [production paper marbler] Faith Harrison's endpapers." The Smiths' miniatures were an homage to the work of miniaturist Achille St. Onge, whose miniature edition of Robert Hutchings Goddard was the first book on the moon.
