Lois Wilson, the wife of Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson, co-founded Al-Anon, a support organization for the families and friends of alcoholics. FORUM started with Lois Wilson coming up with the idea for an Al-Anon newsletter. According to Margaret D., author of the foreword, Lois “draft[ed] our first Newsletter on a yellow legal pad at the old Clearing House.” Margaret D., however, took over editorial duties at FORUM a few years later. Booklabel that reads: “Memento of 35th A.A. Anniversary International Convention Miami Beach, Florida, July, 1970”; this was the first convention at which this book would have been available.
