Signed limited first edition, number 192 of only 300 copies signed by Fothergill on the limitation page, with engravings after pen and ink and watercolor drawings by George Fothergill.

The illustrations, in the style of William Morris’ Kelmscott Press, are accompanied by English verses on hunting and horses by a wide range of poets, including Shakespeare, Milton, Pope, Cowper, Burns, Wordsworth and Tennyson. Podeschi 308. Bookplate of Elisabeth “Pansy” Ireland, owner of Pebble Hill Plantation in Georgia and an accomplished horsewoman and collector.
