"Apparently Inglis had so many requests for his first publication Sport and Work on the Nepaul Frontier written under his pseudonym 'Maori' that he expanded on his experiences… with his new Tent Life in Tigerland. He describes an encounter with a rogue elephant in the Koosee Valley, a tributary of the Ganges… There are also episodes describing hunts for tiger—one with the hunters hidden in shallow pits—buffalo, bear, and pig sticking. The author also recalls beats after rhinoceros, tiger, leopard, and sambur in the Oudh jungles" (Czech, 110-11).
