Michigan State Multiple Offense

Clarence Munn

“THIS BOOK AND A HOST OF OTHER THINGS NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IF IT WERE NOT FOR YOUR GREAT INSPIRATION AND FRIENDSHIP.”: FIRST EDITION OF MICHIGAN STATE MULTIPLE OFFENSE, WARMLY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY “BIGGIE” MUNN

MUNN, Clarence “Biggie” Michigan State Multiple Offense. New York: Prentice-Hall, 1953. Octavo, original green cloth, original dust jacket. $150.

First edition of this book detailing the signature offense that regularly led the Michigan State Spartans to victory during the late 1940s and early 1950s, inscribed: “To Tom, This book and a host of other things never would have been done if it were not for your great inspiration and friendship. ‘Biggie’ Munn.”

This book provides a comprehensive and readable description of Michigan State’s signature 1940s and 1950s football attack, which routinely averaged them 36 points per game for six years. The author of the work, Biggie Munn, was a nationally recognized guard who went on to coach at a number of colleges before settling at Michigan State College in 1947, where he eventually became the athletic director.

Book fine, dust jacket very good with light soiling, a bit of wear, small paper repair with dark coloring to front panel, and tape repairs to verso. A desirable inscribed copy.
