Nolhac, then the Director of the Versailles Museum, gives a detailed explanation of the esteemed Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon palaces (here "ancien" and "nouveau"), the gardens, their architects and their famous residents: Madame Elisabeth, Madame du Barry, and Marie Antoinette among others.
