Early edition of Nolhac’s history of the palaces at Trianon, part of the Versailles complex, with four wood-engraved illustrations. Handsomely bound in morocco-gilt by Canape.

Nolhac, then the Director of the Versailles Museum, gives a detailed explanation of the esteemed Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon palaces (here "ancien" and "nouveau"), the gardens, their architects and their famous residents: Madame Elisabeth, Madame du Barry, and Marie Antoinette among others. This volume is from Nolhac's ten-volume series "Versailles et la Cour de France." Text in French.
