“Warwickshire Edition” of Eliot’s writings, illustrated with over 150 fine plates, handsomely bound.

Eliot, who pioneered the method of psychological analysis characteristic of modern fiction, has been praised as "a supreme novelist in an age of great novelists" (Kunitz & Haycraft, 212). Includes all of Eliot's major novels, as well as her essays, and a Life of the author, "as related in her letters and journals, arranged and edited by her husband J.W. Cross." The illustrations reproduce original drawings by Charles Brock and others, as well as photogravures after photographs taken especially for this edition by C.E. Walmsley.
