First edition of this biography of Rosa Bonheur by her companion, Anna Klumpke, beautifully illustrated with seven heliogravure plates bound in and more than 200 photographic plates of Bonheur’s greatest paintings, handsomely bound in full morocco by the Hicks-Judd Bindery of San Francisco.

French realist painter Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) was the first woman to receive the Grand Cross of the French Legion of Honor. Text in French.
