First edition in English, with two original color lithographs specially prepared by Chagall for this edition, and with numerous beautiful color reproductions of the artist’s work.
Illustrated are various drafts as well as the final versions of the 12 stained glass windows (one for each of the tribes of Israel) designed by Chagall for the synagogue of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. Preceded by the first edition, entitled Vitraux pour Jerusalem (text in French). Without original cardboard slipcase or acetate wrapper. Interior fine; light toning to edges of gray cloth; wear to extremities and two closed tears to spine of dust jacket. Extremely good condition.
