Like his brother Robert, Cornell Capa “has become a legendary figure in American photography… [one of what Capa called the] ‘concerned photographers,’ who used their cameras as instruments of social change” (McDarrah & McDarrah, 77), documenting the Six-Day War, the American political scene, including the presidency of John F. Kennedy, and the Soviet Union. Upon his brother’s death in 1954, Cornell Capa joined Magnum, and for many years he has been a leader in American photography as one of the founders of the International Center of Photography. With introduction by Richard Whelan.
