Limited edition of renowned French Romantic writer Alfred de Musset’s novels, number 51 of 1000 copies, printed on Japanese vellum, with 17 etched plates and a few in-text vignettes, beautifully bound in full morocco with elaborate floriated-gilt embellishments.

“Musset is usually classed with Hugo, Lamartine, and Vigny as one of the four great figures of the Romantic Movement” (Harvey & Heseltine, 502). Includes The Two Mistresses, Emmeline, The Son of Titian, Frederic and Bernerette, and Pierre and Camille. The etchings are by Burney, Lucas, and Mordant after a miniature by Marie Moulin. Text in English.
