A great friend of the poet Jacques Prévert, who wrote the text for this and other of his books, Izis Bidermanas spent his career photographing Paris in the "poetic realist" style. Grand Bal du Printemps is a collection of 62 of his photographs, each accompanied by poetry by Prévert. Of 15,300 copies printed, this is number 12,128, and is preceded only by the limited edition of 100 of the same year.
