Beautifully detailed late nineteenth century Japanese woodblock print of a sumo wrestler.

This print features an image of the champion sumo wrestler Genjiyama Raigoro, whose wrestling career spanned the years 1883 through 1904. Prints such as this one were sold as commemorative broadsides at sumo matches to honor favorite wrestlers.

Only some light edge-wear and creasing as is usual with this type of paper. Very good condition.
