Early American edition of this selection of views from Bartlett and Willis’ famed American Scenery, with engraved frontispiece and 24 engraved American views.

Most of the views gathered here are after Bartlett and all originally appeared in 1840 in Willis American Scenery. The noted landscape and scenic illustrator Bartlett traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, and Africa, and "made four voyages to the United States and Canada…the fruits of which appeared in American Scenery" (DNB). The justly famous plates depict bridges, parks, falls, ferries, rivers and more. Bookplate.
