Born in Kikl, Poland in 1894, Weisgal emigrated to the U.S. in 1905. In the twenties and thirties he served as national secretary of the Zionist Organization of America, and in 1940 he participated in the establishment of the U.S. section of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, serving as its secretary general until 1946. From 1949 he resided in Israel. So Far is an intimate portrait of Zionist history on three continents, from the beginning of the century through the establishment of the State of Israel.
