Scarce 1962 issue of the German magazine DU—“The Photographer Robert Frank”-with 32 superb heliogravures—many from Frank’s masterpiece Les Americans (1958)—as well as images from earlier and later work, and film stills from Pull My Daisy (1959) and The Sin of Jesus (1961).

Recalling this special issue of the prestigious magazine DU, Robert Frank told its editors, "You make beautiful issues. I'm astonished at the things you think of. 1962 was good work, you know." This scarce January 1962 issue features 32 heliogravures, many full page, of Frank's work from 1948 through 1962, including 16 from Les Americains (1958)—a "photobook of legend… none has been more memorable, more influential, nor more fully realized than Frank's masterpiece" (Parr & Badger I:247).
