This miniature-size illuminated leaf is from a Northern French or Flemish Book of Hours, circa 1475-1500. It offers the beginning of the Hours of the Virgin and includes 14 lines of batarde text in black and red. It also features a two-line gilt initial on a filigree blue, purple, and white ground ground. The verso appears to be similar.
