LOVELY 15TH-CENTURY ILLUMINATED INITIAL "H" FROM A FRENCH ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT

Lovely illuminated initial from a French illuminated manuscript, circa 1450-1500, scribed as a pink and blue "H" with white filigree on a burnished gilt ground decorated with leaves and berries.

This illuminated leaf is from a French illuminated manuscript (probably an antiphonal), circa 1450-1500. The recto includes a very large letter "H" in blue and pink with white filigree on a burnished gilt ground decorated with leaves and berries. At the edges of the initial, a small amount of red and black text is visible.

Only slightest rubbing. Very nearly fine condition.
