Wonderful original drawing by Maurice Sendak of the Bee-Man of Orn, inscribed "For Eric and Kim from Maurice with all his love—May 87."

Frank Stockton's story was first published in 1887; the edition with Sendak's illustrations was first published in 1964. This original drawing is on the half title of a copy of the book; it is framed together with the title page from the same book. The drawing depicts a smiling Bee-Man with hands on hips, six bees at his head.
