Before Happiness is a Warm Puppy, Schulz had published only collected "Peanuts" strips; this is the first Peanuts book to appear in a format of original text and illustrations, on colored paper. The small volume enjoyed great success, spending 45 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list, reaching as high as the number two spot.
