Philadelphia artists Florence and Margaret Hoopes contributed illustrations to numerous children's books and magazines throughout the early 1900s, including pen and ink drawings for the Child's Magazine, the Peter Rabbit Series and watercolor illustrations for primers and books. The drawings described above illustrate "Little Miss Muffett;'' an elf motioning to a bird in a tree; and a boy sitting on a kitchen stool, fishing in a wooden bucket.
