First trade edition of one of the quintessential social satires of the late 20th century, inscribed on the half title with Wolfe's customary flourish: "To P— Tom Wolfe."

Wolfe's eleventh book and first novel is a "funny, craftily plotted book that grabs you by the lapels and won't let go… The man knows how to prepare and he knows how to research.
