Includes Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, Persuasion, Lady Susan, The Watsons, and Austen's letters. With color illustrations by Charles E. Brock, an outstanding illustrator of English classics who was widely acclaimed for "his unerring sense of period atmosphere and a flair for depicting character with a humorous sympathy" (Harthan, 239). Brock first created these illustrations for London publisher J.M. Dent in 1898.
