Striking signed autograph letter on Cat in the Hat stationery from Dr. Seuss to his childhood friend Judy Kay Capps regarding a birthday greeting, accompanied by the original mailing envelope hand-addressed by Seuss.
The letter, accompanied by a hand-addressed envelope postmarked "10 Mar 1984," reads in full: "Dear Judy… My roller skates need oiling… but your birthday greeting inspires me to try the hills again. Thanks! All Best Wishes! Ted Geisel [a.k.a. Doctor Seuss]." The letter was written on color Cat in the Hat stationery to Judy Kay Capps of Malibu, who was a childhood friend of Dr. Seuss. In a collection of books inscribed to Capp, Seuss referred to her as an "old playmate" and mentioned their joint roller skating history.
