SIGNED BY ANDY WARHOL

(WARHOL, Andy) KOENIG, Jane, compiler. Saturday Review (The Arts) scrapbook signed. New York: SR, 1972. Folio (8-1/2 by 11 inches), staple-bound as issued, original pictorial paper wrappers, extra-illustrated with Warhol-related clippings and memorabilia. $800.

Original October 1972 issue of the Saturday Review: The Arts, featuring a cover story and cover photograph of Andy Warhol—richly extra-illustrated with hundreds of piece of Warhol-related clippings and memorabilia, including a signed promotional card from Warhol's interview magazine—signed on the front wrapper by Andy Warhol.

This October 1972 issue of the Saturday Review: The Arts features a cover story entitled, "What's Andy Warhol Doing With That Cookie Jar? Claude Picasso Knows," and a cover photograph of Andy Warhol in front of his collection of cookie jars. The issue has been lushly extra-illustrated into a de facto scrapbook. Hundreds of pieces of Warholiana including magazine covers, newspaper/magazine clippings, and illustrations have been glued into the issue, creating a scrapbook of Warhol's career and media presence. Of particular interest is a photographic card signed by Warhol, which was offered as incentive for select subscribers to Warhol's Interview to complete a survey. Also included are a number of Warhol-related items that have not been tipped into the Saturday Review, including correspondence related to the compiler's unsuccessful attempts to acquire the "Mammy" cookie jar Warhol is shown holding on the Saturday Review cover.

About-fine condition.
