Signed limited first edition of Eban's profusely illustrated history of Israel, one of only 300 specially bound copies signed by him, with nearly 100 maps and photographic illustrations.

Raised and educated in England, Abba Eban emigrated to Palestine after World War II. In speeches that "drew comparisons to Churchill's… he gave elegant and passionate expression to Israel's right to exist, instilled pride and solidarity in the Jewish diaspora and was a formidable debater against his nation's enemies… He was Israel's representative at the United Nations during the independence struggle of 1948, its ambassador to both Washington and the United Nations during the Middle East war of 1956, and its foreign minister during the 1967 and 1973 Middle East wars" (New York Times). An acclaimed author, Eban is highly regarded for his histories of the Jews, including this work, My People and Heritage: Civilization and the Jews (Encyclopedia Judaica). My Country, which covers the first 25 years of Israel's statehood, is profusely illustrated with nearly 100 maps and photographic illustrations, including 16 in color.
