[signed] M Teresa MC." Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Thirty years prior, the Albanian nun had left her teaching post at a Roman Catholic school in Calcutta to devote her life to working among the poorest in the slums. In 2016, she was canonized by Pope Francis as Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
